Ringer Control

Description

Ringer Control lets you adjust the volume and pitch of the telephone ringer.

In addition, the 69xx series phones provide:

• a selection of 20 distinct ring tones for signaling incoming calls. Internal and external calls can each have a different tone which can only be assigned from the phone.

• a Silence Call softkey, which when pressed, mutes the ringer. However, the Line key continues to flash.

Conditions and Feature Interactions

• Ringer pitch control is available only on some phones; see Feature Availability below for more information.

• You set ringer control (volume and ring type) for SpectraLink and OpenPhone 27 handsets locally through the handset and not from the Superkey menu.

• The Up/Down keys on the DECT Cordless Headsets adjust the ringer volume setting for the associated IP phone and its handset. The ringer volume of the headset itself cannot be adjusted.

• The Silence Call softkey:

• Is applicable only to 69xx series phones.

• Is not supported if the user is on a call.

• When pressed, mutes the ringing of all current incoming calls.

• When pressed on a phone that belongs to a Group (User, Ring, Hunt, Suite or ACD), the ringing stops only on the phone on which the Silence Call softkey is pressed. The other phones in the group continue ringing.

• Always applies to Prime and Single lines, but also applies to Keyline and Multicall non-prime appearances when 'Display Caller ID on Multicall/Keylines' is enabled in the Class of Service Options form.

• Applies only to an incoming call. When a new call is presented after the ringer is muted, the phone will ring again.

Operation

TeleMatrix 3000IP Phone, 5302 IP Phone

To adjust the Ringer Volume while the set is ringing:

• Press arrow up or arrow down.

To adjust the Ringer Pitch:

1. Lift the handset.

2. Dial the Tone Demonstration feature access code.

3. Press 33.

4. Press arrow up or arrow down.

5. Hang up.

5020 IP Phone, 5220 IP Phone and 5220 IP Phone (Dual Mode), 5224 IP Phone, 5324 IP Phone, and Navigator

To adjust the Ringer Volume while the set is ringing:

• Press arrow up or arrow down.

To adjust the Ringer Pitch:

1. Press Superkey (must be programmed to a key on the 5330/5330e IP Phone and 5340/5340e IP Phone).

2. Press No until "Ringer Adjust?" appears.

3. Press Yes.

4. Press Yes.

5. Press arrow up or arrow down keys.

6. Press Superkey.

5312 IP Phone and 5304 IP Phone

To adjust the Ringer Volume while the set is ringing:

• Press arrow up or arrow down.

To adjust the Ringer Pitch:

1. Press Superkey (must be programmed to a key on the 5304 IP Phone).

2. Press # until "Ringer Adjust?" appears.

3. Press * twice.

4. Press arrow up or arrow down keys.

5. Press Superkey.

5320/5320e IP Phone, 5330/5330e IP Phone, 5340/5340e IP Phone, and 5360 IP Phone

To adjust the Ringer Volume while the set is ringing:

• Press arrow up or arrow down.

To adjust the Ringer Pitch:

1. Press Superkey (must be programmed to a key on the 5330/5330e IP Phone and 5340/5340e IP Phone).

2. Press No until "Ringer Adjust?" appears.

3. Press "Ring Adjust".

4. Press No.

5. Press "Ring Vol."

6. Press arrow up or arrow down keys.

7. Press Superkey.

5001 IP Phone and 5005 IP Phone

To adjust the Ringer Volume while the set is ringing:

• Press  to increase the volume

• Press  to decrease the volume

The ringer pitch cannot be adjusted on these telephones.

5010 IP Phone, 5207 IP Phone, 5212 IP Phone, 5215 IP Phone and 5215 IP Phone (Dual Mode)

To adjust the Ringer Volume while the set is ringing:

• Press arrow up or arrow down.

To adjust the Ringer Pitch:

1. Press Superkey.

2. Press # until "Ringer Adjust?" appears.

3. Press *.

4. Press *.

5. Press arrow up or arrow down keys.

6. Press Superkey.

5140 IP Phone and 5240 IP Phone

To adjust the Ringer Volume:

1. Press Settings.

2. Press More.

3. Press Ring Adjust.

4. Press Ringer Volume.

5. Use the Volume keys to adjust the volume.

To adjust the Ringer Pitch:

1. Press Settings.

2. Press More.

3. Press Ring Adjust.

4. Press Ringer Pitch.

5. Use the Volume keys to adjust the pitch.

5505 SIP Phone

To adjust the Ringer Volume while the set is ringing:

• Use the slider control on the side of the phone.

OpenPhone 27

To adjust the volume of the earpiece, loudspeaker, and headset (if connected):

1. Press .

2. Long press . Volume appears on the display.

3. Press repeatedly to adjust the volume.

You can select from 30 different melodies with various ring tones, set full melody or chirp for all incoming calls, enable or disable the buzzer, and enable or disable the vibrator. To set the ringer options:

1. Short press .

2. Press to select Local Mode.

3. Press OK.

4. Press to select Ringer Settings.

5. Press OK.

6. Set the following parameters:

7. Melody: choose from 30 melodies

8. Type: select type of notification: full melody, single bar, or chirp

9. Device: buzzer or vibrator

10. Volume: set volume for internal calls, external calls, VIP calls, and messages

A check mark appears next to the activated setting.

7. Press Esc to exit Local Mode menu.

SpectraLink Wireless Telephones

To adjust the Ringer Volume:

1. While on hook, press FCN briefly to open the user options menu.

2. Press the Up/Down keys on the side of the handset to highlight Noise Mode.

3. Press OK.

4. Press the Up/Down keys to highlight one of the following settings:

5. Normal (for most office environments)

6. High (for moderate background noise)

7. Severe (for extremely noisy conditions)

5. Press OK.

NOTE: To silence a ringer without answering the call,
press .

To set the Ring Type:

1. While on hook, press FCN briefly to open the user options menu.

2. Press the Up/Down keys on the side of the handset to highlight Ring Type.

3. Press OK.

4. Press the Up/Down keys on the side of the handset to highlight Telephone Ring.

5. Press OK.

6. Press the Up/Down keys to highlight one of the following settings:

7. Normal (for audible alert)

8. Vibrate Ring (for vibration alert)

9. Vib/Norm Ring (for vibrate for five seconds and then audible alert for subsequent rings)

   NOTE: The Auxiliary Ring modes are reserved for future use.

7. Press OK.

69xx IP Phones

To adjust the Ringer Volume while the set is ringing:

To select ringtones for internal and external calls:

1. Press .

2. Navigate to the Audio > Ring Tones setting and press the Select button or Select softkey.

3. With the Internal Ring setting highlighted press the right navigation key to move to Internal Ring selection column.

4. Use the up and down navigation keys to scroll through the list and choose the applicable ring tone.

5. Press the left navigation key and then the down navigation key to highlight the External Ring setting.

6. With the External Ring setting highlighted press the right navigation key to move to External Ring selection column.

7. Use the up and down navigation keys to scroll through the list and choose the applicable ring tone.

8. Press the Save softkey to save your changes

NOTE: To silence a ringer without answering a call, press or tap the Silence Call softkey. The Auxiliary Ring modes are reserved for future use.
